Art Of Smart Home Technology
A little about me
My name is Gary Sam, I have been working in the live events industry since 1998, specialising in lighting for stages, concerts, shows, corporate gala dinners and live sports events. You are welcome to go and look at my website gallery for some of the shows and events I have worked on (www.freelancelighting.weebly.com).
So what has stage lighting got to do with smart homes? A lot of what we do in stage lighting is pushing the boundaries by using the latest technologies available to us and sometimes even having to invent new technologies to achieve the desired effect. This makes me quite tech-savvy and because of this, smart home technology is something that comes easily to me and something I do enjoy doing.
I am self taught in smart home tech as I have numerous smart home devices connected in my own home. I use Home Assistant which runs on a Raspberry Pi which automates everything in my own home.
One major plus is all my devices are what I like to call, "wife approved" in that you dont need to be tech savvy at all to control devices such as light switches, curtains etc... which work as normal but with the added automation and smart control in the background.
The world is moving to smart technologies for home use and If you would love the ability to control your own homes lights, plugs, TV's, music, etc... all with your voice, or even just to have things magically happen with automated routines, eg. at sunset, curtains can close and certain lights switch on, I can help make that happen.
Arriving home in the dark can sometimes be a scary experience especially when the whole house is in darkness and you have to fumble around looking for the light switch. An easy solution is that when arriving home, certain lights inside and outside the house will switch on to welcome you home.
Security is also an aspect of smart home technology. Smart cameras can also be set up, which gives you the ability to check in on your home where ever you are.
If this appeals to you and would like to start a smart home or need help configuring your existing one, please don't hesitate to contact me either via a phone call, Whats-App, or email...here.
I am happy to meet at your home, discuss your requirements and then quote you according to your needs.
